The ongoing health of our community's families is a major concern of Tarrant County Public Health. The following programs address specific health issues of individuals and families.
Provides education to help understand, prevent and/or manage:
Community Youth Development (CYD)
The CYD program was established for the purpose of reducing juvenile crime in areas of Texas with the highest incidence of youth crime.
Nurse-Family Partnership Program
This program partners young mothers with experienced nurses to improve health outcomes for their children.
This program offers case management for pregnant women at-risk for a repeat preterm birth. There are also provider tools and Medicaid guidelines to assist both patient and health care providers.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
WIC provides nutrition assessments, healthy foods, nutrition, breastfeeding education and referrals for eligible pregnant, post-partum and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under the age of 5.
