Community Youth Development (CYD)

The Community Youth Development (CYD) program was established with funds authorized by the 74th Legislature for the purpose of reducing juvenile crime in areas of Texas with the highest incidence of youth crime. The CYD Interagency Planning Workgroup identified 15 ZIP codes with the highest incidence of juvenile violent crime in Texas. Local providers offer juvenile delinquency prevention services to youth within the targeted ZIP codes. Program specifics vary from site to site, but all programs follow the same model.
