Tarrant County Public Health now offers the Safe Riders child passenger safety education classes to parents and caregivers in Texas to keep children safe while riding in cars.

Car seat eligibility

Low income families or those experiencing financial hardship are eligible to receive a free car seat.

Key items:

  • Classes are available in English and Spanish..
  • In person and virtual classes are available.
  • Must live in Texas.
  • Pregnant women in third trimester are eligible.
  • One of the child’s primary caregivers must get registered and attend the hour-long class.
  • All types of car seats are available including booster seats.
  • Car seat technicians will assist caregiver with installation upon completion of class.
  • One car seat available per child.

Registration is required to attend classes.
