    FAIR HOUSING AND TENANT RIGHTS INFORMATION

    Housing discrimination based on your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, family status or disability is illegal by federal law. If you have been trying to buy or rent a home or apartment and you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a fair housing complaint.     If you are unsure or have questions, you can call our office 817-850-7940 to speak with housing support. Our office does not offer legal advice, but you will be referred to the appropriate agency and resources.



    If you would like to file a formal complaint, please follow the instructions below:

    - If you live in Fort Worth, call the Fort Worth Community Relations office at 817-392-7525.

    - If you live outside of Fort Worth, there are several ways to file a fair housing complaint:

                   (1) Call 1-800-669-9777, U.S. Department of HUD
                   (2) File a complaint now by using the on-line form              

    If you are still unsure or have questions or are a current tenant renting, you can call our office at 817-850-7940 to speak with housing support. Our office is a call center clearing house and can provide information and education. We do not offer legal advice, but you will be referred to the appropriate agency and resources to help solve your issue.
