The Reserve Unit is composed of 38 highly dedicated individuals from all occupations and walks of life who dedicate a portion of their time to community service by working as volunteers with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

The Tarrant County Reserve Deputies, just like full-time deputies, are required to perform many duties, including but not limited to: the arrest and control of suspects, crowd control, traffic enforcement and crime scene security. Uniforms are furnished but members must provide their own weapon and leather gear in accordance with Sheriff Office policies.
