Summary: Uel Stephens, Jr. (1924-2007) served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, worked as a structural engineer at Convair, and retired from Lockheed Martin. He maintained a lifelong passion for aviation. His parents, Uel Stephens, Sr. and Hattie Stephens were active in a variety of civic organizations, both local and national. Uel Stephens, Sr. was the director of the Fort Worth Water Department from 1942 to 1961, and a member of the planning board for construction of St. Stephen Presbyterian Church. Hattie Stephens served as the national president for the Daughters of 1812 and with that group worked to have a memorial monument for General Edward H. Tarrant placed on the Tarrant County Courthouse lawn. This collection includes social directories, newspaper articles, photographs, publications, blueprints, scrapbooks, travel-related ephemera, and articles on extended family members.
