Summary: Donor gave a box of photographs from her time as County Clerk of Tarrant County. Suzanne Henderson served as County Clerk for 24 years. She began in 1986 and retired on December 31, 2010. As County Clerk, Henderson was responsible for records related to vital statistics, Probate, County Civil and Criminal Courts, real property, Commissioners Court, and the Recycling Center Program. During her tenure, she received many local, state, and national awards, including the Texas Association of Counties Best Practice Award for Records Management and Recycling, the Five Star Award from the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics, and the Eckerd's 100 Women Award, to name a few. In addition to her role as County Clerk, Henderson served as President of both the National Association of County Recorders and Election Officials & Clerks (NACRC). She also served on the board of the National Association of Counties (NACo), served as President of Prevent Blindness Texas, and was President of Lions Organ and Eye Bank 2E-2. She served in leadership roles in many other local and state organizations during her career.
