Unidentified Persons

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office makes every effort to identify each deceased individual received by the office using a variety of scientific methods and available databases, in order to provide answers for legal next-of-kin as quickly as possible.  

If you are a friend or family member searching for a loved one and have any information that will assist with the identification of an individual, please contact TCME at 817-920-5700, ext. 8678.

If you need to report a missing loved one, please contact your local law enforcement agency.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System 

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a national, centralized repository and resource center that utilizes a searchable database to assist in identifying human remains.  This is a free, bilingual online system available to law enforcement officials, medical examiner personnel, as well as the general public.  NamUs provides technology, forensic services and investigative support to resolve missing person and unidentified remains cases across the United States.
