Healthcare Benefits

Public Employee Benefits Cooperative (PEBC)

In 1998, Tarrant County joined with other member governments to create a purchasing coalition called "PEBC". On behalf of its member governments, the PEBC provides the joint purchase of employee benefits and cost effective administration of PEBC programs.

These programs include a choice of two medical plans (including a high deductible/health savings account plan), two dental plans, a vision plan, an employee assistance program, employee and spouse term life and dependent term life insurance, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, and a Wellness Program.

Full-time employees of Tarrant County are eligible to participate in PEBC programs beginning on the first day of the month following 30 consecutive calendar days of active, regular employment.  Employees must contribute toward the cost of their medical coverage and any elected benefit options such as dependent coverage and dental insurance, etc.

Detailed information regarding the PEBC benefit plan offerings is available on the PEBC website www.pebcinfo.com
