What information can I obtain from the County Clerk Criminal Division?

The County Clerk is the Keeper of the Record for Class A and B Misdemeanor cases that are a result of an offense that occurred in Tarrant County. Although our staff cannot give legal advice, we can provide information such as case number, court assignment, court date, attorney’s name or bondsman’s name. For information, please call 817-884-2820. Our records dates back to 1976.

How can I request copies of Class A and B Misdemeanor cases?

The County Clerk Criminal Division is the Keeper of the Record for Class A and B Misdemeanor cases that are a result of an offense that occurred in Tarrant County. For copies of these records, please email your request to: the County Clerk's office or call 817-884-2820 and one of our clerks will walk you through the purchase process.

 

Where can I get a criminal background search for Class A and B Misdemeanor cases that are a result of an offense in Tarrant County and what is the fee?

The fee for a Criminal Background search is $5 and can be obtained by visiting our office located on the 2nd floor of the Tim Curry Justice Center at 401 W. Belknap St., Fort Worth, Texas, or by calling 817-884-2820.

 

How can I make a payment towards fine and costs on a Class A or B Misdemeanor case?

There are three ways to make a payment:

1.      Please visit us online at: www.tarrantcountyfines.com.

2.       To make a payment over the phone with a credit card, please call 817-302-1066.

3.       To pay in person with cash, credit card, cashier’s check or money order, please visit our office located in the Tim Curry Justice Center located at 401 W. Belknap St., Fort Worth, Texas 76196.

 

Who do I contact to get an extension on my fines and court costs on a Class A or B Misdemeanor case?

To get an extension for fines and costs on Class A or B Misdemeanor case, you must contact the court in which your case is assigned. If you are unsure of your court assignment, please call us at 817-884-2820 and one of our clerks will be able to assist you.

 

Who do I contact regarding a phone call I received about a delinquent payment on a Class A or B Misdemeanor case?

These calls are generated by our Judicial Compliance Office when payment for fines and costs is delinquent. For information regarding a delinquent payment on a Class A or B Misdemeanor case, please call our Judicial Compliance clerk at 817-884-2308. For information regarding a felony case, please contact the District Clerk’s Office at 817-884-2873.

 

How can I obtain proof of payment and/or documentation of a zero balance for fines and court cost on my Class A or B Misdemeanor case?

To obtain documentation of payment or zero balance on a Class A or B Misdemeanor Case, please visit our Cashier’s Office in person at 401 W. Belknap, Fort Worth, Texas 76196, or call us at 817-884-2873. For information regarding a felony case, please contact the District Clerk’s Cashier’s Office at 817-884-3429.

 

How can I renew my driver’s license?

The County Clerk’s Office does not have authority to answer driver’s license related questions. For specific information regarding your driver’s license, please contact the Department of Public Safety.

 

How do I obtain an occupational driver’s or get an interlock device removed?

Each court has their own rules for occupational licenses and removing an interlock. To find out a specific court’s rules, please contact the court your case is assigned to. To find out your court assignment, please call 817-884-2820.
