Can I have speed humps/bumps installed on my street in unincorporated Tarrant County? Tarrant County does not install speed humps. We install speed limit signs to inform drivers of the speed limits on streets and perform traffic counts (collect speeds, traffic volume, time of day) to determine speed limits. This information is provided to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department to help with their enforcement activities.
Do I need a building permit if my property is located in unincorporated Tarrant County? There are no building permits required for single family residential and no zoning restrictions for properties in unincorporated (outside city limits) Tarrant County. Tarrant County does not issue a Certificate of Occupancy. Businesses/Multi-family developments may be subject to the Fire Code. Please contact the Fire Marshal's Office for questions regarding the Fire Code.
