    Question 5: I want to renew by mail.

    How do I renew my registration by mail?

    All registration types may be renewed by mail.  Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing.  Fees should be paid by check, cashier's check or money order.  Please do not send cash or credit card payment information through the mail.

    Mail your renewal notice and proof of liability insurance to the address shown on your renewal notice.  If you have moved to a different county, the renewal notice should be mailed to your new county tax office address.  Access a listing of county tax offices on the TxDMV website.  Select "TAC Listing" from the "Documents" list to open a .pdf file with all tax offices throughout the state.

    Follow the instructions on the renewal notice: Send the renewal notice, registration fee and all requested information to your county tax office. Add an additional $1 for the processing and mailing fee. Include a photocopy of your insurance card to show proof of financial responsibility.
