Summary: Donor gave a box of photographs from her service as County Clerk of Tarrant County. Suzanne Henderson served as County Clerk of Tarrant County for 24 years. She began serving citizens in 1986 and retired on December 31, 2010. As County Clerk, Henderson was responsible for records related to vital statistics, Probate, County Civil and Criminal Courts, real property, Commissioners Court, and the Recycling Center Program. During her tenure, she received numerous awards including the Texas Association of Counties Best Practice Award for Records Management and Recycling, the Governmental Collector's Association of Texas Award for Collections Program of the Year, the Five Star Award from the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics, and the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission Environmental Award. Henderson was also the recipient of the Linda Carter Award for Excellence in Government (2002-NACRC), Lion of the Year (2001 - Lion International, 2E-2), the Eckerd's 100 Women Award (2001) and Unity Church's Mother of the Year Award (1995). In addition to her role as County Clerk, Henderson also served as President of the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials & Clerks (NACRC), was a board member of the National Association of Counties (NACo), served as President of Prevent Blindness Texas, President of Lions Organ and Eye Bank 2E-2, was Chair of the Women's Policy Foundation, and was a board member of the Fort Worth Founder Lions Club.
