The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Personnel Unit is supported by four administrative employees divided into two sections. They are responsible for all administrative actions in support of over 1,400 employees of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
Two full-time employees are dedicated to correspondence between the Sheriff’s Office and Tarrant County Human Resources, as well as the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. They handle all paperwork involving hiring, separations, promotions, transfers and all paperwork involving State licensing for peace officers, jailers and tele-communicators (9-1-1 operators).
The other section of the Personnel Unit is supported by two full-time employees. Their responsibilities are the approval of payroll, Family Medical Leave, Worker’s Compensation, coordination of Temporary Medical Assignments and the auditing of records for payroll.
