Carnaval de Salud to Focus on Health Care and Wellness

September 28, 2015 (Tarrant County, TX) – Free flu vaccinations and health screenings will be provided by more than 40 community organizations participating in this year’s 10th Annual Carnaval de Salud.

Tarrant County Public Health hosts this event as part of the annual Binational Health Week – a collaborative effort with the Mexican Ministry of Health, the Mexican Consulate in Dallas and other local agencies. The goal is to focus on health care and wellness among Hispanics, and to promote sustainable partnerships that address health issues in North America.

Scheduled screenings include glucose/cholesterol, HIV/STD, vision, BMI/blood pressure, prostate and dental exams.

The event will also feature live “EduTainMent”, featuring the popular Steppin’ Grannies (senior dance movement), the ZZ Skippers (synchronized jump ropers) and the Bicycle Rodeo – a safety bicycle and helmet check zone for kids under 12.

All services, including the free flu vaccinations, are provided on a first-come, first- served basis.
