September 4, 2014 (Tarrant County, TX) – Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has confirmed two West Nile virus (WNV) positive mosquito samples in unincorporated Tarrant County.

The two positive mosquito samples were collected in Southwest Tarrant County – in the area around Bucking Bronc Drive and Westridge Road.

In an effort to inform the public, TCPH has issued a notification to neighbors in the area and will continue notifications throughout the weekend.

TCPH has also updated the WNV Interactive Map on the department’s Stop West Nile Virus webpage.

To date, 3,030 mosquito samples have been tested at TCPH’s North Texas Regional Laboratory since seasonal surveillance began on April 1. A total of 125 samples have tested positive - Arlington (3), Bedford (28), Benbrook (1), Burleson (4), Colleyville (14), DFW Airport (3), Edgecliff (1), Euless (16), Fort Worth (8), Grapevine (10), Haltom City (1), Hurst (7), Keller (4), Mansfield (2), North Richland Hills (9), Richland Hills (5), Southlake (5), Watuga (1), Unincorporated Tarrant County (3)
