    Aug. 1-7 is World Breastfeeding Week

    Join us this Saturday, August 1, for the 4th Annual Family Expo & Big Latch On to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. The event is being held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The official breastfeeding count starts at 10:30 a.m. More than 75 vendors are attending, including birth professionals, wellness providers, clothing designers and many more.

    National Immunization Awareness Month

    As a service to parents of school-age children who do not have private insurance, Tarrant County Public Health and its partners will provide back-to-school vaccinations at various locations throughout the county. For more information and locations, consult our calendar for specific event dates, locations and times. Here’s a printable schedule.

    Back-To-School Roundup

    Back to School Roundup

    Thursday, Aug. 20, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    Tarrant County Public Health and its partners are offering low-cost back-to-school shots for children without private insurance at the Tarrant County Back to School Roundup, Will Rogers Memorial Center (3400 Burnett Tandy Dr., Fort Worth TX 76107).

    The annual Back to School Roundup, running from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., provides free school supplies to 10,000 underserved students in grades Pre-K through 12th who reside in Tarrant county and meet specific income requirements.  A one-stop shop to prepare the whole family for the start of school, the Roundup provides pre-registered families with free school supplies as well as health, dental and vision screenings, immunizations, haircuts and information on education, health and social services.

    PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED!  Call 2-1-1 to pre-register.
