    About Us

For 40 years, the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program has helped pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well, learn about nutrition and stay healthy. WIC provides services to pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under the age of 5. All WIC services are free to those who qualify.

    WIC Offers:

    • Helpful nutrition information for you and your family,
    • Breastfeeding education and assistance,
    • Nutritious foods,
    • Referrals to other health and medical services as well as
    • Immunizations at some WIC Clinics.

WIC benefits in Texas are administered by the Department of State Health Services. Some 1 million women, infants and young children participate in the program state-wide.
