    HIV Testing

Adult Health Services offers walk-in syphilis and HIV testing at two locations in Tarrant County. Our testing and counseling sessions take approximately 30 minutes but can vary, depending on the individual's risk factors as well as the results of the tests. Results can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a week, depending on the type of testing requested. We also offer additional testing options for other STDs that are transmitted the same way as HIV and syphilis. To learn more about comprehensive STD screening that includes HIV and syphilis, go to the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STDs/HIV) page.

    Test Results

Unless the rapid testing option is chosen, the majority of test results will be available within one week. However, your testing counselor will discuss the time frame for your specific HIV and syphilis tests with you during your visit.  You will receive a test card that designates the date you can expect your results to be ready and the phone number to call. Please note that test results may take longer than expected if additional testing is required for your specimen. Time frames for results may also be affected during the holiday season or other county recognized holidays.
