Flu season lurks right around the corner. Cook Children’s
diagnosed their first flu case this week -- the earliest diagnosis
they have seen in three years.
Each year at this time Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and our friends at Walgreens join us to encourage residents to become flu aware and to get a flu shot. There is no way to know how intense any flu season will be, but we do know flu can knock down the strongest person for several days --and it can kill. While there are several things you can do to protect yourself and your family from the flu, a flu shot is one of the best protective measures you can take.
I’ve got mine now. Why don’t you get yours?
TCPH is now offering low-cost flu vaccine in all of our clinics. You can also get a flu shot at most area pharmacies and doctors offices. It doesn’t matter where you get one as long as you get one.
We’re hoping this flu season will be a mild one. If you get a flu shot, the flu shouldn’t bother you much at all.
Have a healthy autumn!
