Tarrant County Clerk Mary Louise Garcia will join other state and county officials to discuss the status and benefits of the new, Texas Supreme Court-mandated e-filing program for court and other legal documents.

The event will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Tyler Technologies Headquarters,
5101 Tennyson Parkway, in Plano.  Tyler Technologies is a public sector software solutions provider selected by the State of Texas to host the web site supporting e-filing.

Nathan Hecht, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas; David Slayton, Administrative Director of the Texas Office of Court Administration; Bruce Graham, President of Tyler Technologies Courts & Justice Division; John Warren, Dallas County Clerk; and Andrea Thompson, Collin County District Clerk will also participate.

"We have been doing e-filing since 2004, but lacked integration until now," said Garcia.  "Texas is taking a big step in technology to catch up with other states where e-filing of court cases has been under way for some time."
