Today, Mayor Betsy Price and County Judge Glen Whitley issued a joint statement regarding the news that nurse Nina Pham has been declared free of the Ebola virus and able to return to her family.
“We are delighted that Nina Pham has been declared Ebola-free and has been released to return home. Our community is grateful that our prayers for Nina have been answered and that she is healthy.
As we saw in today’s news conference, Nina has expressed her and her family’s desire for privacy. As with Dr. Brantly, we are asking the media and the general public to honor Nina’s and her family’s request and give her time to rest and regain her strength.
We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize Nina, Amber Vinson and all those individuals involved in the healthcare community. It is a noble calling where people put themselves at risk to protect the health of the community.”
