District Clerk Tom Wilder will be formally opening a new office that will accept passport applications, allow court document research and accept court cost payments in the Mansfield Sub-Courthouse of Tarrant County 1100 E. Broad St., Suite 102 at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014.
The formal opening will include remarks from Commissioner Andy Nguyen, Mayor David Cook, District Clerk Tom Wilder and a representative from Congressman Joe Barton.
The District Clerk is a registered agent of the U.S. State Department and has been handling passport applications since 1999. Current locations are in Tarrant County Sub-Courthouses in Arlington, Fort Worth, Lake Worth and Southlake as well as the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center in Downtown Fort Worth.
The District Clerk received 25,868 passport applications in FY 2013 and continues to have a substantial increase in business due to their reputation for good customer service over the years. No appointment is necessary.
Other services to be offered in Mansfield include passport photos with special equipment that meets State Department requirements, court document research and copies for civil, family and criminal cases. Employers can do criminal background checks and citizens can obtain certified copies of court documents that can be used to transfer car titles and real estate.
Public computers are available for free usage or District Clerk deputies can perform the search for a $5 research fee and/or appropriate copy charges as mandated by Texas law.
