Tarrant County to mail replacement voter registration certificates to voters affected by City of Fort Worth redistricting:

Approximately 104,000 registered voters within the City of Fort Worth are in new city council districts or new voting precincts due to the City's redistricting plan adopted last year.

In preparation for the City's upcoming election in May, the Tarrant County Elections Office is sending replacement voter registration certificates to the affected voters. The certificates are being mailed Wednesday, January 30th and will show the voter's new city council district and/or voting precinct number. Certificates are not being mailed to voters whose council district and precinct number are unchanged.

Voters receiving replacement certificates should destroy their old voter registration certificate. The new certificate may be used for voting in all elections held during 2013.

Voters are encouraged to carefully check the information on their new certificates for accuracy, including their city council district and precinct number; and should immediately call the Elections Department if they believe any information on their replacement certificate is incorrect.

Registered voters who have moved or had a name change should notify the Elections Department in writing to update their records. The deadline to register to vote or update your existing voter registration record for the May 11, 2013 elections is April 11, 2013.
