The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office and Crime Laboratories consist of approximately 85,173 square feet of floor space.

The Facilities Superintendent is responsible for all of the general maintenance of the building, including minor repairs and preventive maintenance.  He also oversees vendors and contractors, ensures work is done properly and supervises work-release individuals assigned to perform janitorial, grounds maintenance and other duties.  His role is especially vital in maintaining all of the ventilation and air conditioning needs specific to a facility like the Medical Examiner’s Office with its inherent biohazards and the investment in precision scientific instruments that cannot tolerate significant temperature changes.
