    Honorary Juror Program

    Honorary Juror Program

    In 2013, the Tarrant County, Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Court instituted the “Honorary Jurors Program” with the Fort Worth Independent School District. Each year, the Justice Court sends letters of invitations to every elementary, middle and high school in Precinct 5 to send delegations of students to observe live court proceedings.

    The program, now in its fourth year, has three objectives;

    1.      Students develop a better understanding of the Justice of the Peace Court.

    2.      Encourages high school completion and urges students to enroll in college.

    3.      Asks participants to consider entering the legal profession once they are degreed professionals.

    The "Honorary Jurors Program" has been a complete success and has been featured in the Texas Association of Counties, County Magazine and the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
