    Voting by Mail (Absentee Ballot)

    Tarrant County registered voters are eligible to request and receive a ballot by mail if any of the following conditions prevents them from voting in-person during the early voting period or on election day:

    1. Expected absence from the County during both the early voting period and on election day. (The ballot must be mailed to an address outside the County.)
    2. Disability
    3. 65 years of age or older
    4. Confinement in jail and not finally convicted of a felony

    Applicants may use the official application form, or may send an informal application that includes your name, the address at which you are registered to vote, one of the above conditions for requesting a ballot, the address to which you want the ballot mailed, your party preference (in primary and elections), and your signature. If the ballot is not to be mailed outside the County and not to the address at which you are registered, you must give an explanation as to the address such as nursing home, hospital, etc.

    Applications for a ballot by mail may be submitted throughout the calendar year, beginning January 1 and must be received by our office no later than the close of business on the eleventh day before Election Day.  If the eleventh day before Election Day falls on a weekend, the deadline is the close of business on the first preceding business day. All voted ballots that are returned on or before Election Day will be counted. Voted ballots mailed from outside the United States may be counted if clearly postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the Elections Administrator not later than the fifth day after Election Day. Completed applications may be submitted by mail, contract or common carrier, fax or (Effective September 1, 2015, you may submit by email a completed, signed with the voter’s original signature and scanned application to the Early Voting Clerk.):
