    Investigation Division

The Investigation Division is staffed by investigators who are certified Texas Peace Officers. Their primary responsibilities include assisting the prosecutors in evaluating and preparing cases for trial. Investigators routinely review cases, determine areas that require further investigation, locate witnesses and facilitate the collection of all the facts and information necessary to allow assistant criminal district attorneys to make informed decisions on the final disposition of cases.

Their work can also include traditional law enforcement activities such as arrests of suspects, interviewing witnesses, and filing cases for consideration by the grand jury.  Investigators can be assigned to special investigations and are frequently called upon to advise and assist Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement agencies in a wide variety of situations.

These investigators possess a wealth of knowledge and experience. Many have been trained in specific job related specialties such as fraud investigation, computer and cellphone forensics, video forensics, and homicide investigations.

Investigators are assigned to trial teams or specialized units within the District Attorney’s Office based upon training and experience.  The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office investigators have a wide variety of backgrounds in police work and are seasoned professionals with a proven ability to function as a member of a professional organization.
