The goal of the Nurse Family Partnership program is to reduce the Tarrant County Infant Mortality rate.  Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks was fundamental in publicly declaring Tarrant County’s interest and support in establishing this program.  Nurse Family Partnership is an evidence-based nurse home visitation program for first-time mothers and their children.  In July 2008, Tarrant County Public Health was awarded grant funding to serve 200 families in Tarrant County.  He continues his support of the program by serving as Chairman of the Board of the Tarrant County initiative and on the Statewide Leadership Board for The Texas Nurse-Family Partnership program.

Today, the Tarrant County Nurse Family Partnerships program employs eight nurses and has 165 clients in the program with 113 infants. The program has graduated 215 clients.
