Deadline Approaching to Pay Tarrant County Property Taxes

The last day to pay 2019 property taxes to avoid penalty and interest is Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.

According to Wendy Burgess, Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector, “All eight of the Tarrant County Tax Office locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Standard Time to assist taxpayers with their property tax payments; however, we encourage taxpayers to pay online whenever possible to avoid the crowds.”

As online systems become heavily used in the last hour of the day, the Tarrant County Tax Office recommends starting the online process earlier in the evening to avoid complications.

The Tarrant County Tax Office encourages property owners who cannot pay in full to make partial payments. Those partial payments will be applied and only the remaining balance will be subject to penalties rather than the full original amount due.

The Tarrant County Tax Office Customer Service Center is available at 817-884-1100 to assist with property tax and motor vehicle questions or branch locations. Phone lines are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST, except Wednesdays when they are available 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST.

Due to a high call volume, taxpayers may experience difficulty speaking with a customer service representative over the phone. Taxpayers can also send an email to taxoffice@tarrantcounty.com.  Please allow 48 hours for a response.
